Frequently Asked Questions

What is WebWander?
WebWander is a website discovery platform — like a StumbleUpon for the modern web. We curate thousands of the most interesting, interactive, and mind-blowing websites across 24 categories. Hit "Stumble" and discover something amazing.
How does it work?
Our AI scans sources like Hacker News, Reddit, and Lobsters daily to find new websites. Each site is categorized, scored for quality, and checked for availability. When you stumble, our recommendation engine picks sites based on your interests and ratings.
Is WebWander free?
Yes! WebWander is completely free to use — both the website and the Chrome extension. No premium tiers, no paywalls.
How do I install the Chrome extension?
Visit the Chrome Web Store and search for "WebWander", or click the "Chrome Extension" link in our footer. Once installed, press Alt+S anytime to discover a new website.
How are websites selected?
We use a combination of AI curation and community signals. Sites are sourced from trending tech communities, scored for quality and "wow factor", and community ratings (likes/dislikes) help surface the best content. A quality audit removes generic or boring sites.
Can I suggest a website?
Yes! Email us at saqibnoorani@gmail.com with the URL and we'll review it. We're always looking for amazing websites people haven't heard of.
Why do I need to sign in?
You don't! You can stumble anonymously without signing in. Signing in with Google lets you save favorites, sync across devices, and get better recommendations based on your history.
How do I delete my account?
Email saqibnoorani@gmail.com with your account email and we'll delete all your data within 48 hours.
A website I found is broken or inappropriate
Click the dislike button to flag it. Our system tracks community ratings and automatically deactivates sites that receive consistent negative feedback. For urgent issues, email us directly.
What are Curated Paths?
Curated Paths are themed journeys through 6-8 related websites. Think of them like playlists — "The Sound Safari", "Down the Rabbit Hole", etc. Our AI creates these weekly. Visit the Paths page to explore them.
